Chris Lee | MED, LPC

Counseling & Therapy, Family Counseling | Columbia, MO

My name is Chris Lee. I’m a Clinical Therapist with the Counseling Hub and a licensed counselor in the state of Missouri.

pronouns: he/him

You might be a good fit for me if you…

  • worry too much about what others think of you and it gets in the way of living your life;

  • can't seem to connect to others in a meaningful or social way, but desperately want to;

  • feel sad and can't stop beating yourself up–you wish you could just snap out of it;

  • find yourself feeling lost and unsure about how to parent your kids and are in need of reassurance and guidance;

  • can easily rattle off 10 things that are “wrong” with you, but struggle coming up with one thing you like;

  • are in the thick of processing the end of a significant relationship, whether via death or dissolution and want to find balance, clarity, and peace of mind;

  • feel overwhelmed with life and can’t gather your bearings, and are eager for stability and relief;

  • have trouble feeling emotionally safe in relationships;

  • aren’t sure what a healthy relationship looks or feels like.

The above are common reasons people come into counseling. These are the reasons people seek help.

More often than not, folks still feel some sort of shame in reaching out. One of the reasons Tara founded The Counseling Hub was to diminish that sense of shame, to normalize the fact that all people struggle in some way during their lives, and to empower people to grow and heal in their own unique way.

The Counseling Hub is all about connecting, healing, and growing.

I value building trust, connection, communication, and safety in my clinical practice. Acknowledgement and validation of a person’s humanity are also important to me. My goal is to see and hear you as accurately as possible while we navigate that which has brought us together in this helping relationship.

Five Fun Facts About Chris

  1. I love music, like big time!
    Last summer I released my first solo album. It was a long time coming, as I've been playing music since high school. I am a total 90s music nerd and have seen Pearl Jam 35 times and counting. I find music to be a place of healing, peace and ultra-mega-awesome living room dance parties with my two little kids!

  2. Pickles are natures candy!
    Ok, bear with me. I know pickles aren't actual candy, I just LOVE them! My wife knows when I've eaten one because she says she can smell them on me. Here's to pickles, all types, everywhere!

  3. Australia is my second home.
    I met my wife there over 20 years ago and have family there. The beaches and sunsets are second to none in the whole wide world. Also, meat pies all the time! Aussie slang is both hilarious and tough to follow if you aren't used to every word having its own abbreviation.

  4. I love nature, and am very connected with animals in particular.
    I'm a dog guy. No offense to cats, they're cute, but they make me sneeze! One time I accidentally ran over a squirrel and pulled over to cry for about 10 minutes. I love travelling and connecting with the power of the natural world.

  5. I like shoes.
    I have a decent collection of Nike's but just love a nice pair of shoes or boots, period. I try to wear a different pair every day, but sometimes I will wear the same pair for a month solid. Shoes, keeping our toes safe since 3500 BCE!
