My name is Chris Lee. I’m a Clinical Therapist with the Counseling Hub and a licensed counselor in the state of Missouri.

Clinical Therapist at The Counseling Hub

pronouns: he/him

You might be a good fit for me if you…

  • worry too much about what others think of you and it gets in the way of living your life;

  • can't seem to connect to others in a meaningful or social way, but desperately want to;

  • feel sad and can't stop beating yourself up–you wish you could just snap out of it;

  • find yourself feeling lost and unsure about how to parent your kids and are in need of reassurance and guidance;

  • can easily rattle off 10 things that are “wrong” with you, but struggle coming up with one thing you like;

  • are in the thick of processing the end of a significant relationship, whether via death or dissolution and want to find balance, clarity, and peace of mind;

  • feel overwhelmed with life and can’t gather your bearings, and are eager for stability and relief;

  • have trouble feeling emotionally safe in relationships;

  • aren’t sure what a healthy relationship looks or feels like.

The above are common reasons people come into counseling. These are the reasons people seek help.

More often than not, folks still feel some sort of shame in reaching out. One of the reasons Tara founded The Counseling Hub was to diminish that sense of shame, to normalize the fact that all people struggle in some way during their lives, and to empower people to grow and heal in their own unique way.

The Counseling Hub is all about connecting, healing, and growing.

I value building trust, connection, communication, and safety in my clinical practice. Acknowledgement and validation of a person’s humanity are also important to me. My goal is to see and hear you as accurately as possible while we navigate that which has brought us together in this helping relationship.

Five Fun Facts About Chris

1. Music is my heartbeat.

I’m completely obsessed with music! I’ve been playing guitar (and various other instruments) since high school, and have been in a band the last 15 years writing and recording with my best friend. I’m a proud 90s music nerd. Proof you say? I’ve seen Pearl Jam live 35 times and counting. I love a good mixtape and send them out to my colleagues here at The Counseling Hub at the change of each season.

2. I'm a “girl Dad”.

I am a Dad to two daughters! I have learned a lot about patience, empathy, and resilience in this role! You’re not just teaching them the basics of life–you’re shaping their confidence, their sense of self-worth, and their understanding of what it means to be strong, kind, and unapologetically themselves. There’s something so powerful in watching them express themselves with all the courage in the world! Being a girl dad isn’t just about raising a daughter–it’s about creating a space where she feels safe to be exactly who she is, knowing that you’ll always be there to cheer her on, wipe away the tears, and offer a shoulder to lean on.

3. Australia is my second home.

I met my wife in Australia over 20 years ago, and I’ve got family there, so it holds a special place in my heart. The beaches, sunsets, and meat pies are unparalleled. Aussie slang? Hilarious, but it can be tough to follow when every word seems to have its own abbreviation. But I’m here for it!

4. Nature is my happy place, and I’m an animal lover at heart.

I’m a dog person through and through. No offense to cats, they’re adorable, but they make me sneeze! My favorite animals that aren't dogs are whales! I've never seen one in real life and I have a big wish to someday go whale watching. I feel incredibly connected to the natural world, and I love traveling to experience its power and beauty.

5. Pizza is my favorite food.

Right up there with my love for music, is pizza. Wow! Just amazing. There's no equal to this perfect food in my opinion! My local favorite is Pizza Tree, but I also love a frozen Tombstone pizza at home!
