There are a large variety of questions we receive related to rates, insurance, sliding scales, and the like. These should answer most of them, but if you need any additional information, email us directly and we’ll attempt to get things clarified for you! *A small note - sometimes that clarification includes requesting you contact your insurance provider directly.

  • Rates for individual counseling, couples therapy and marriage counseling, and family counseling sessions vary based on which of our team you decide to work with (lots of great choices there). Ultimately, our rates vary from $50-$150 for a 55-minute session (a therapeutic hour). The first session is approximately double the cost of your agreed-upon rate.

  • We do, but only for individual work! We accept both United Healthcare and Aetna. Here’s a catch, though. Not all of our clinicians accept insurance within the hub. This is primarily due to license level restrictions - meaning that only fully licensed clinicians can be credentialed with insurance companies in Missouri.

For folks who don’t have insurance, want to work with a provider who doesn’t accept insurance, and/or are going for out of network benefits, we can provide monthly statements for you to submit to your insurance provider if you’d like to attempt to receive some reimbursement for services.

It’s important to note that The Counseling Hub doesn't have any control over whether or not you are eligible for reimbursement through your insurance provider. If you do have insurance, you can call your insurance company and ask if they reimburse for out-of-network providers. If so, then we can provide you with the proper paperwork for insurance reimbursement.

  • Great question!

We do same-day charges for any services rendered. In essence, we’ll collect one of three things:
    a) the payment for your copay
    b) the payment for your contracted rate, or
    c) the client responsibility after having met your deductible

What we collect is dependent on your coverage, but you’ll be informed of the specifics of that before you even set foot in the office (virtual or in person). No surprises over here.

  • We don’t. The long and short of this decision is that accepting insurance for the style of therapy we do with regard to couples/relationship work would be fraudulent. As much as we want to accept insurance for couples/relationship work, we’re not willing to engage in fraud to make that happen!

  • The Counseling Hub offers sliding scale rates for counseling that are based on gross household income. To be fair, we require proof of income prior to the first session. Additionally, one of the many benefits of having interns with the practice is that we can offer sessions at a reduced rate. Please make sure to ask when you contact us for setting up your first session.

  • That's a great question. Short answer is that we have clinicians with varying levels of licensure status, experience, and training, and the rates each counselor offers is reflective of those things. You can read more about each clinician on the “Clinical Team” page to get a feel for who you'd want to work with, and you can contact us directly with questions regarding fees for counselors at 573-586-3204.

  • Great question! At the most basic level, Blueprint is a system that ensures therapy is working. Via Blueprint, we do brief assessments with our clients on a consistent basis, which informs us about therapy and how it’s going. The beauty of collecting data consistently is that we can adjust as needed in the therapy office. This includes you advocating for yourself, your therapist getting additional information, and/or the two (or more) of you having candid conversations about progress. It allows us to make changes sooner, which both speeds up the course of your treatment and provides a more formal way of seeing therapeutic progress!
