Clinical Intern Breanon Kratzer on her approach to therapy and her preferred tools and methods

These are common reasons people come into counseling. These are the reasons people seek help.

More often than not, folks still feel some sort of shame in reaching out. One of the reasons Tara founded The Counseling Hub was to diminish that sense of shame, to normalize the fact that all people struggle in some way during their lives, and to empower people to grow and heal in their own unique way.

The Counseling Hub is all about connecting, healing, and growing.

As a clinician, I understand my role as a supportive guide and a compassionate advocate. My primary focus is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel truly heard and understood. lt’s about building a collaborative partnership, empowering you to identify your strengths, navigate challenges, and ultimately achieve your therapeutic goals. I see myself as a facilitator of insight and growth. Whether we’re exploring past experiences, developing new coping skills, or addressing challenging emotions, my commitment is to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and well-being. My aim is to equip you with the tools and understanding you need to lead a more fulfilling and empowered life.

Five Fun Facts About Breanon

  1. I love football season–Go Chiefs!
I actually became a football fan during covid while living out in Southern California. There was not a lot else to do and I became a Chiefs fan because I missed my family back in Missouri. It was an additional way for me to feel connected to them while being 1,741 miles away.

  2. I enjoy kayaking.
There is a sense of peace that develops while I am on the water. I almost feel as if it is a form of meditation for myself. It allows me to connect with nature and feel a deeper connection with myself.

  3. I view myself as an advocate before I am a “helper.”
By working to create more equitable and supportive environments, I believe I can help to stop some problems before they arise or escalate to the point where clinical intervention is necessary. I also believe in amplifying the voices of those who are often unheard, challenging power imbalances, and fighting for fundamental rights.

  4. My favorite genres of music are probably emo and rock music.
The lyrics are intensely personal and raw. I find the lyrics to often be validating of the human experience (feelings of/from heartbreak, isolation, mental health struggles, love, etc.). In this human experience, we are bound to have our own experiences of struggle. I find it important to validate those experiences for others. Music validates my own experiences for me.

  5. I love healing crystals and gems–yes, rocks!
There was a time in my life where I felt an internal void, no direction, and difficulty with filling said “void.” Learning about healing crystals and gems helped fill that void and gave me something to believe in. My favorite are malachite, black tourmaline, and labradorite.
