These are common reasons people come into counseling. These are the reasons people seek help.

More often than not, folks still feel some sort of shame in reaching out. One of the reasons Tara founded The Counseling Hub was to diminish that sense of shame, to normalize the fact that all people struggle in some way during their lives, and to empower people to grow and heal in their own unique way.

The Counseling Hub is all about connecting, healing, and growing.

Life is hard, period. Life as a teen is even harder. There are rough moments and big, confusing emotions. My role as a clinical therapist is to provide a safe and trusting environment for you to explore these big emotions and process life experiences. My goal is to work through them together. I’m here to help you find your way towards feeling more resilient and confident in life by helping you realize you can navigate the world and be okay doing it.

Five Fun Facts About Brooklyn

  1. I am an artist

Once upon a time, I was going to be an art teacher! While I am clearly not an art teacher, I still enjoy art. I am currently a Live Wedding Painter on the weekends and also enjoy doing digital illustrations. Something I can see myself pursuing in the future is being licensed as an art therapist.

  2. I changed my major 4 times

In college, I changed my major from Art Teacher to Fine Artist to Art Teacher to Liberal Studies with emphasis in Psychology and Education. In high school, I was adamant that I wanted to do something in art, but I took one Psychology class and instantly knew I wanted to learn more. Thus, my path towards being a therapist began.

  3. I love music–any music!

I have never been able to say I love one genre over another. I love anything from heavy metal to broadway. I am a 90's punk rock gal and can put on my own broadway show of Wicked. Music has always been a big coping skill for me when it comes to the stressors of life. In high school, I was part of a band as the vocalist where we performed covers by Crossfade, Flyleaf, Avenged Sevenfold, and more.

  4. I am oddly good at chess

Before you ask - no, I am not a professional and have never been in any competitions. But I sure do love a competition! I love board games and puzzles, but chess is by far my favorite. Scrabble is definitely a second favorite.

  5. I love documentaries

More specifically, crime and paranormal documentaries. But there is a catch, I can never watch them by myself. I get too scared watching them alone. Even after I do watch them with someone, I have to watch a comedy movie afterwards to calm myself down. It is what it is.
