These are common reasons people come into counseling. These are the reasons people seek help.

More often than not, folks still feel some sort of shame in reaching out. One of the reasons Tara founded The Counseling Hub was to diminish that sense of shame, to normalize the fact that all people struggle in some way during their lives, and to empower people to grow and heal in their own unique way.

The Counseling Hub is all about connecting, healing, and growing.

I see counseling as a collaborative process. I'll listen closely, help you notice the connections among your thoughts, emotions, and behavior, and work with you on coping strategies that fit your life. We'll shape our work around your goals instead of using a one-size-fits-all process. We can start with what feels most pressing and build from there.

Five fun facts about me

1. I've been wrestling for most of my life. The sport has taught me a lot about discipline, perseverance, and confidence. It has also given me some of my closest friendships and favorite memories. I love the competitive side of wrestling, but I'm just as grateful for what it has taught me off the mat.

2. I absolutely love dogs. I could probably talk about different breeds and their personalities forever, and I'm almost always the person who stops to say hello to a dog. I have two miniature dachshunds, Navey Kae and Oakley Bean.

3. I love being outdoors and staying active. Going for a walk, working out, or exploring somewhere new is one of my favorite ways to clear my mind. I like keeping busy, but time outside also helps me slow down and reset.

4. Time with family and friends matters a lot to me. Some of my favorite memories are the simple ones: getting together, going out, hanging around, and talking. I value close relationships and making memories with the people I care about.

5. I'm a huge fan of Grey's Anatomy and Criminal Minds. Grey's Anatomy pulls me in with the drama and relationships, while Criminal Minds keeps me guessing with the cases and storylines. If you watch either one, we could probably spend way too long talking about favorite characters and episodes.
