want to express your needs, desires, and concerns more effectively;
struggle with self-esteem or body image and want to build a stronger sense of self-worth while developing a more compassionate, accepting view of your body and abilities;
need tools to prioritize, manage stress, and stay calm in the face of overwhelm;
are carrying emotional baggage from past experiences, and you want support in processing these events so they no longer control your present;

Working With Interns (Blog Highlight)
These are common reasons people come into counseling. These are the reasons people seek help.
More often than not, folks still feel some sort of shame in reaching out. One of the reasons Tara founded The Counseling Hub was to diminish that sense of shame, to normalize the fact that all people struggle in some way during their lives, and to empower people to grow and heal in their own unique way.
The Counseling Hub is all about connecting, healing, and growing.
I believe that you are the expert in your own experiences and deserve the chance to work through life's obstacles at your own pace. As a clinician, my first priority is to create a safe and supportive space for you to explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors without the fear of judgement or backlash. I value the therapeutic relationship and want to empower you while also bringing empathy, humor, and openness to the counseling session. My role is not to provide the answers but to work with you by listening and problem-solving whenever possible.
Five Fun Facts About Jean
I love to learn!
I love variety, and often I find myself wanting to pick up a new skill or try a new experience. Taking a new class, visiting a museum or exhibit, or attending a community event is a great way to expose myself to different cultures or learn something new.I love to explore and travel.
One of my favorite things to do is road trip and visit new towns and cities. It is a fun experience to encounter something new and different. Traveling fosters the interest I have in learning, and it is also a great form of self-care for me. When traveling, I often unplug from social media to focus on being more present in my experience.I consider myself to be a bit of a houseplant enthusiast.
I currently have a small collection of roughly 50 plants and have had the pleasure of growing most of these plants from small cuttings or propagations. The beauty of watching something grow and evolve over time grounds me. Outside of the uniqueness each plant has, the life cycle of plants reminds me much of our lives as humans. There are new beginnings, endings, ups and downs, rough patches, and even moments of re-definition.I enjoy anything related to the fine arts & crafts.
I have always had an interest in the fine arts. I can play the clarinet, violin, and am currently teaching myself guitar. I also enjoy other things like pottery, candle making etc.My favorite animals are birds.
I have owned three birds as pets in my lifetime and would love to own more in the future. The most recent bird I owned was a Turquoise Green Cheek Conure named Romeo. Birds are such fun pets to own as most will tell you they have big personalities and love to socialize.
